Letter to White Georgians: Reject Your Corrupt Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue
Dear White Georgians,
As you have noticed around your state, there has been voter registration and mass mobilization efforts taking place in black and brown communities. These communities have been inundated and educated with a clear understanding as to what is at stake if Georgians elect Senatorial candidates Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. By voting for these two candidates, Georgians and the rest of America will have an opportunity for better healthcare, more economic support, an expansion of democracy through structural reforms, criminal justice reforms, Covid-19 relief that will greatly impact businesses, state and local governments, families and communities, infrastructure spending and climate change initiatives passed through law.
As you can see, the election of Warnock and Ossoff would greatly benefit ALL of Georgia, regardless of race, religion and sexual orientation. The humanity of everyone is validated and the lives of your fellow citizens are strengthened.
On the other side, you have your current Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. Their campaigns has been different. They have been focusing on scaring you, insulting your intelligence and appealing to the worst of your humanity. They have embraced racism, white supremacists in your state and has aligned themselves with the worst president in American history. They have been reckless and irresponsible in their subservience to a president that has undermined democracy and has made life worse for Georgians.
Your two corrupt Senators have abused their power and position. They have used information to benefit themselves and have no record of accomplishment to run on in your state. They engage in racial flame throwing and bad faith politics of fear and inaccuracy with “socialist and radical” labeling of their opponents.
White Georgians, please be honest with yourself and understand that a vote for Perdue and Loeffler is not a vote for “conservative” values. Their support for a despotic, alleged sexual abuser, authoritarian president Trump and Mitch McConnell, the Majority Leader that has irresponsibly grown the deficit and defaced the constitution, is all the proof you need to dispel that fallacy.
A vote for Perdue and Loeffler is a vote for valuing whiteness over everything else. As I’ve previously outlined, your personal life, humanity and overall well-being would be validated with Warnock and Ossoff because it would be shown in their policy positions. The emotional appeal to whiteness is meant to stop you from being rational and reflective. It’s like the pressure of a timeshare presentation, to succumb to the moment and have regrets later.
Senators Perdue and Loeffler have made it clear that they will do everything possible to stop President elect Joe Biden from improving the lives of Georgians and Americans in general. You deserve better than Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler. I wish you can see that they fundamentally do not care about you. Just look at their record, actions and the way they’ve campaigned for the evidence.
That being said, I know many of you will still vote for Perdue and Loeffler and it’s unfortunate. For many of you, letting go of the racism and appeals to the sickness and lies of white supremacy is just too much to ask. However, I am hoping that enough of you will align yourself with the coalition of the better that is organizing on behalf of ALL Georgians and put Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff over the top. You won’t regret it. Do it for democracy and most importantly, do it for yourself.
